Her: Blah blah blah survey..."can I speak to the adult in the household who..."

Me: "I find this script insulting because it assumes that I am not an adult, so I'm going to hang up now."

no, it wasn't. And ours said "Am I speaking to an adult...?" which implied that we needed to be certain that we got the right person, whereas theirs comes off as assuming that they got the wrong person and need to be transferred. It's subtle.

If they actually called with NIS I'd do it, since I have a kid in range and I feel sorry for the bastards stuck doing it.

Phone surveys and random calls are a plague upon humanity. Sympathy for the poor call center participants aside, this plague will continue until every person in the world hangs up their phone.

Seriously. We among the 18-28 range have agreed to stop taking these calls - finally - but someone needs to get the elderly. Send a representative!
